Statement of Faith

1. God

We believe there is only one God, who has existed forever as three co-equal and eternal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
1 Tim. 2:5  |  Mt. 3:16-17, 28:19  |  Psalm 90:2

2. The Bible

We believe that the entire Bible (from Genesis to Revelation) was inspired by God. It is the only written Word of God. It is true and without error in all that it teaches. It is the only faultless authority in Christian faith and everything to do with living the Christian life.
2 Pet. 1:20-21  |  2 Tim. 3:16-17  |  Heb. 4:12

3. Jesus Christ

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and is truly God and man in one person. He lived a perfect and sinless life, pleasing to God.
Mat. 1:18-23  |  Col. 2:9  |  1 Pet. 2:22

4. Mankind

We believe mankind is different from every other living creature. Every human is unique as a moral, thinking being created in the image of God. The historic fall of mankind into sin (through the first man Adam) brought all people under God’s judgement. We are all personally responsible before God for our own sin against Him.
Gen. 1:27, 5:1-2  | Rom. 5:18-19  |  Rom. 3:23  |  Rom. 6:23

5. The Cross

We believe that the Lord Jesus died and shed His blood for our sins according to the Scriptures. He died as our substitute so that all who believe in him and accept Him as their personal Saviour are saved from God’s divine judgement.
Rom. 5:8-10  |  1 Cor. 15:3  |  2 Cor. 5:21

6. Christ's Resurrection

We believe in the physical, personal resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, who ascended to heaven, and is presently there as our intercessor and advocate.
Acts 2:31-33  |  Luke 24:33-43  |  1 John 2:1  |  Rom. 8:34

7. Only Way to Eternal Salvation

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Saviour. There is no other way to receive forgiveness of sins. God invites people to respond to Him as Saviour and Lord in a personal commitment of repentance and faith. Those who respond in faith are assured of eternal salvation because of Christ's perfect work on the cross.
Acts 4:12  |  John 1:12  |  John 3:16-18  |  John 5:24  |  John 8:24  |  John 10:27-29  |  John 14:6

8. Return of Jesus Christ

We believe in the imminent, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will bring eternal blessing and vindication for believers, eternal judgment for unbelievers, and be revealed in power and glory to set up His kingdom. For those who have died, there will be a resurrection of believers to eternal life and a resurrection of unbelievers to eternal punishment.
Mat. 25:31,46  |  John 5:28-29  |  Phil. 3:20-21  |  1 Thess. 4:13-18  |  2 Thess. 1:7-10  |  1Cor. 15:35-54

9. The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, leads them to be spiritually born again, comes to live in the believer, and guides them in their Christian life.
Rom. 8:9,14  |  John 16:7-11  |  John 14:16-17

10. The Church of Jesus Christ

We believe that the Church (all true Christians) is the dwelling place of God through the Holy Spirit and that all believers should come together with Christ as their gathering centre for the purpose of worship, prayer, exposure to the Scriptures, and fellowship, and then go out to a lost world with the gospel. Believers have the responsibility to maintain moral and doctrinal purity both in their own lives and in the church.
1 Cor. 3:16-17  |  Acts 2:41-47  |  2 Cor. 5:18-20  |  1 Cor. 5:12-13  |  Heb. 10:19-25
