Have you ever wanted to trip a canoe trip with your family, but didn’t have the time, equipment or experience? Beacon’s got one last chance for you to join us this summer for an adventure!

Awesome Wonder Family Camp is designed to give families a great week at camp with a two-night canoe trip tucked into the middle. We’ll help prepare all the equipment, provide the training and staff on your trip and of course include Christ-centred devotionals that will help bring your family together as you explore God’s incredible creation.

When you arrive at camp, we’ll cover all the necessary elements of a canoe trip during your stay at camp. We’ll have lots of fun at camp too! Then, each family will head out with a staff guide team, including lifeguards and experienced canoe trip leaders. Your family will have their own tent accommodations and canoes, provided by Beacon (unless you want to bring your own?).

Spots are very limited for this last family camp of the summer, so register soon or contact the camp office!

Canoe Trip Location + Equipment

All canoe trips will take place in The Massasauga Provincial Park, located a short drive away from Beacon. To support safe distancing, families will be expected to drive their own vehicles to the park access point. Beacon has a long history of paddling in The Massasauga, and our staff have been to all the sites we’ll be using during our canoe trips. For more details about The Massasauga Provincial Park, click here.

Beacon will provide canoes, lifejackets, paddles, tents, food barrels and other tripping equipment. Families are asked to bring their own sleeping bags, sunscreen, hats, water bottles and clothing for the trips. If possible, we recommend that families bring a set of sheets for sleeping at camp, and a sleeping bag for the canoe trip - it’s always nice to get into a fresh set of sheets after a couple of days of paddling!

If you have any questions about canoe trip equipment, please contact our Program Coordinator, Alyssa at staff@beaconbiblecamp.com.

COVID-19 Protocols

Beacon is required to follow all health guidelines provided by the Province of Ontario and Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit. We want our campers to be happy and safe. While we’re working hard to provide a camp experience as “normal” as possible, there will be some changes required to accommodate for safety and distancing. As of registration launch on March 1, 2021, we do not have final regulations from the health unit, and will be in frequent contact with registered families as the summer approaches. If you have any questions, read our Parent Information page below, or contact the camp office for more details.
