Introducing... ReKindle!

Alyssa LaRocque

We’ve posted on social media. We’ve sent emails. We’ve spread it by word of mouth. Now it’s the blog’s turn to tell you about our newest staff training/staff reunion mash-up called ReKindle!

Serving at Beacon, even if only for one weekend or week-long session, is a role with a lot of responsibility. The basic safety and well-being of the campers is of utmost importance, and Beacon has many policies and procedures in place to ensure that staff known what to do in order to protect and provide for their campers. There are also invaluable opportunities to encourage campers to know Jesus in an authentic and life-giving way, and Beacon knows that providing training and resources will allow staff to approach these opportunities with care and confidence.

So how do you prepare for these responsibilities?

ReKindle! This weekend is an opportunity for staff to gather and be equipped and empowered for fulfilling the duties of their key roles.

Serving at Beacon is also a joy because it means working shoulder to shoulder with other people who love Jesus, love kids, and love adventures in the heart of Muskoka! Whether it’s battling bugs, calming campers, flipping pancakes, paddling canoes, or running around with a painted face in the woods, these experiences bring people of all ages and backgrounds together in unexpected ways! God often blesses us through camp friends because of the unique camp bond that forms.

So how can you be refreshed by these special friendships apart from the regular camp season?

ReKindle! This weekend is an opportunity for staff to gather and be encouraged by each other’s friendship.

You can find the full schedule for ReKindle posted here on the Beacon website, but as a quick preview, you can look forward to the following sessions or activities: optional hiking or paddling morning devotion excursions, a policies and procedures game show, a camp session fair, training on sharing the gospel with children, and a giant bonfire!

If you have been a staff member in previous years or will be serving this year - and you’re turning 17 or older this year - then ReKindle is specially for you! Find out more about registering and schedule on the Beacon website, or email staff@beaconbiblecamp.com with your questions.

Empower. Equip. Encourage. Come be a part of ReKindle 2019!
