COVID Update 4: Reopening Delayed

Luke LaRocque

As we navigate the new world that has come from this coronavirus, we are committed to sharing with you as much information as we’re able. Like you, we are all walking through a valley of uncertainty and a lack of information, but what we know for sure, we will tell you. This regular blog update will happen when we can let you know more about the situation at Beacon, but we ask that you reference our Beacon and COVID-19 page for the latest information. You can find that page by clicking here.

Dear Beacon family -

As we continue to work through what COVID-19 will look like for so many people in Ontario, the Beacon Board of Trustees met recently to talk about these issues. It was decided that we would be postponing our on-site programs and events until the end of May 2021.

We know that this is heartbreaking for many families who look forward to seeing us at “other” times of year, especially the rental groups and Family Day Festival participants who have made the last few winters so much warmer than the temperature outside.

As we’ve announced over the last few weeks, we’re glad to be hosting online programs this fall, and want to invite you all to be a part of it. Please continue to pray for Beacon, our ministry to camper that continues through online methods and our staff - we deeply feel the loss of time with all our camp families, and pray that God would redeem this time, not just for Beacon, but for each family as well.

Until we see each other again,
Luke “Kodiak” LaRocque
