Day Camps: Good for Everyone!

When I think about the programs that we run at Beacon, I am always so thankful that I can promote them with just as much energy to both campers and staff. This applies very much to Beacon’s 2021 day camp programs that are running on July 26-30 and August 16-20.
For campers, I am so excited that we can offer a full selection of favourite Beacon activities after missing out on a whole summer of having kids at camp. I’m so excited for the railroad theme that will help us learn about how Jesus’ power gives us the strength to go through anything in life. I’m so excited for the new skills our staff have from staff training which will make our activities better than ever for campers. I’m so excited for kids to see their camp friends again!
For staff, I am eager for the leaders who have inspired campers every summer to be reunited over the common goal of encouraging kids in heart, spirit and faith. I am eager to see staff come alive after such a long period of no children’s programming. I am eager for staff to enjoy the beautiful new Lighthouse space. I am eager for staff to be spiritual encouraged by what they share with the kids as well as what they share with each other.
In the case of both staff and campers, our excitement and eagerness also come from the fact that we know how important it is for people to reconnect with meaningful communities in their lives. The isolation and restrictions of the pandemic have taken their toll on the hearts and minds of people of all ages, and getting to experience each other at camp again is a God-given refresher! The staff who are already up at Beacon preparing to receive campers have shared regularly how wonderful it is to be in community again. We want to offer this same experience to as many campers and staff as possible!
So if you are camper age - we are excited for you to come to day camp! Sign up if you haven’t already! And if you are staff age - we would love your help! We are still hoping to expand our day camp staff team so that we can have as many campers as possible.
